Principals

Peter R. Beatham, CPA

Peter is a founding shareholder and has been in public practice since 1968. Peter graduated from the University of Maine in 1967 with a bachelor's degree in mathematics. Peter began his career working in the tax department for Peat Marwick in Portland, Maine. Peter was a partner at Loiselle and Beatham for 16 years prior to forming Beatham, Bernier, Seekins & Colpritt, CPAs. Peter is the firm's tax partner and provides estate planning, litigation support and tax and financial planning services. Peter also has worked extensively in the area of subsidized housing since its inception in the early 1970's and provides consulting, tax and financial services for a number of subsidized housing projects. Peter currently serves on the board of directors and as treasurer of the Penobscot Cerebral Palsy Foundation and is past budget director of The United Way. Peter regularly lectures at various civic and business organizations. Peter lives in Plymouth with his wife, Mary Ann. He is a member of the Maine Society of CPAs.

Thomas A. Bernier, CPA

Tom is a founding shareholder and has been in public practice since 1980. Tom graduated in 1980 from Husson College with a bachelor's degree in business administration/accounting concentration. Tom passed the CPA examination in 1983 and was a partner in Loiselle and Beatham for 12 years prior to forming Beatham, Bernier, Seekins & Colpritt, CPAs. Tom is the managing partner and oversees the firm's personal tax and financial planning services. Tom provides estate planning services and business consulting services to a variety of individual and business clients. Tom lives in Bangor with his wife Kathryn and daughter Monica. He is a member of the AICPA, Maine Society of CPAs, Rising Virtue Lodge and Anah Temple Shrine.

Lynn M. Seekins, CPA

Lynn is a founding shareholder and has been in public practice since 1985. Lynn graduated from the University of Maine in 1985 with a bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting and Finance Concentration. Lynn passed the CPA exam in 1991 and was a senior accountant at Loiselle and Beatham for 12 years prior to forming Beatham, Bernier, Seekins & Colpritt, CPAs. Lynn oversees the firms bookkeeping and payroll services and assists in the management of the firm. She has extensive experience in individual, corporate, partnership and estate taxation. Lynn lives in Glenburn with her husband Dana and their three children. She is a member of the AICPA, Maine Society of CPAs and the Patawa Club where she has served as treasurer and president.

Gemma E. Colpritt, CPA

Gemma is a founding shareholder and has been in public practice since 1988. Gemma graduated from the University of Southern Maine in 1982 with a BA in Business Administration. Gemma passed the CPA exam in 1990 and was a senior accountant at Loiselle and Beatham for 9 years prior to forming Beatham, Bernier, Seekins & Colpritt, CPAs. Gemma oversees the audit functions of the firm and assists in the management of the firm. She has extensive experience in individual, corporation and partnership taxation. She also provides financial planning and consulting to a wide array of business clients. Gemma lives in Bangor with her husband, Ken and their two children. She serves on the Bangor Soccer Club Board of Directors and is a Girl Scout troop leader. She is a member of the Maine Society of CPAs and the AICPA.

Michael Jones, CPA

Mike is a 1993 graduate of New Hampshire College where he earned a B.S. in accounting. After a period of time in private accounting, Mike joined the firm of Deloitte & Touche LLP in Boston in 1997 where he became an audit manager. In 2002, Mike joined Beatham, Bernier, Seekins & Colpritt, CPAs as a manager primarily responsible for assisting in overseeing and enhancing the firm’s assurance practice and on January 1, 2004, Mike was promoted to partner. Mike’s extensive experience includes, auditing compliance with federal and state grant requirements, including OMB Circular A-133 and the State of Maine Accounting and Auditing Practices for Community Agencies (MAAP). Mike has primary engagement responsibility for many of the firm’s larger clients. Mike’s client base consists of small to medium sized corporations, partnerships and nonprofit organizations. Mike is a member of the Maine Society of CPAs, the Orono Economic Development Committee, and the Old Town / Orono Rotary. He currently serves as treasurer for the Brewer Economic Development Corporation. Mike resides in Orono with his wife Amy and their child, Noah.

Tasha A. Gardner, CPA

Tasha attended the University of Maine at Orono where she earned her B.S. in Business Administration with an Accounting Concentration in 1990 and an MBA in 1992.  Her professional career began in public accounting with KPMG Peat Marwick in Portland, Maine.  In 1993 she returned to Bangor to join the firm of James D. MacArthur, CPAs where she worked for the next ten years.  Tasha joined Beatham, Bernier, Seekins & Colpritt, CPAs in February 2004 as a Manager.  Tasha has extensive experience in the construction industry, car dealerships and business consulting.  Tasha lives in Brewer with her husband Bill and their two children.
